Hello, I'm Charlie! I started working out in my senior year of high school. Before that, you could never find me in a gym. I attended the University of North Georgia for two years, and while being there, I fell in love with working out. The community, the people, and the opportunities the gym introduced me to were mind-blowing. That same sense of connection is exactly what drew me to Fitness at Five, where I've decided to continue my training career!

With a little over a year of experience, I've had the pleasure of learning that working out isn't just a way to lose weight or blow off steam. It's a way to learn how your body moves, connect with yourself, your muscles, and see what you're truly capable of. I started working out because I wanted to tone my muscles and lose weight, but I continue to work out because it's taught me so much more about myself, and for the first time in years, I've become my own friend.

I was a multi-sport athlete for over a decade in school playing tennis, also running track and cross country. As I got older and made my way out of organized sport, I pursued strength training as an outlet to facilitate my active lifestyle. It soon became more than just a hobby, and I found I wanted to pursue a career in the fitness industry, which is when Fitness at Five found me.

I began as a member here in undergrad at UGA, and fell in love with the gym itself, but more so the community it brought me. This gym fostered my initial interest in fitness and soon after I obtained my personal training certification. Now, with 5 years of being certified as a personal trainer and helping clients at various age ranges and fitness levels, I feel confident I can help you reach your own individual goals. While growing up in Georgia, I was a multi-sport athlete, playing both basketball and baseball. During my time at UGA, I gained valuable experience through internships with the Prince Avenue Football Team and the University of Georgia's football team. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant I taught Intro to Weight Training, Group Fitness, and Body Conditioning to undergraduate students.

Over the past five years, I've coached hundreds of individuals and have had the privilege of working with everyone from beginners looking to start their fitness journey to elite-level athletes. I have worked with youth sports teams, young adults with autism, middle and high school athletes, and those also returning from injury. Following my training programs clients have surpassed their original goals. I specialize in H-I-R-T Training (High Intensity Resistance Training) which is a great program for weight loss, strength/muscle gain, conditioning, muscular definition/tone up, and for rehabilitation issues such as injury recovery/prevention, muscle imbalances, and flexibility. My coaching and athletics background makes it easy for me to relate with everybody and to find the best way to teach them so that they can learn how to be fit, not just skinny.
